Police Log - Sutton MA Police Department
Feb 28 - Mar 6, 2011
Again this week we had no deer hits at all. Great driving everyone! But it was a super odd week for obscene phone calls! Usually I don't report them separately because there are just one or zero of them. I toss them into the general pile. But this week there were six of them! That's by far a record. It makes you wonder - was it one person being harassed or a bunch of them?
Also, another bizarre streak - the morning of Monday, February 28th was a complete nightmare in terms of car crashes! At 6:32am we had one on Rte 146. Then at 7:03am we had one on Providence Road. 7:04am, Central Turnpike. 7:05am, Boston Road. 7:40am, Central Turnpike. Plus a ton of disabled vehicles at that same time too. It was a rough morning to be on the road!
Based on the raw data, here is the breakdown of what the police worked on this week. There were 292 items on my report (which had a few things removed).
The number of events the police handled on each day of the week:
A breakdown of the types of events they handled this week, with the most frequent ones on the left:
A 209A is a restraining order. COD is Cop On Duty / Court Duty. It's listed in relationship to the Uxbridge Court House and typically involves an officer appearing at court in relationship to testifying about tickets / arrests / etc.
There were 21 911 calls this week which is a fairly high number. Most weeks it's more like 15 911 calls. Several were related to all those traffic accidents. Note the reason there are fewer on the above graph is that if a 911 call comes in for something specific - like "Medical Assist" - that's what I file it under. I only leave it under "911" if it's something generic.
The same figures in a pie chart, which helps to demonstrate that motor vehicle issues were by far the most common event the police dealt with:
