Car vs Deer
Unfortunately, here in Sutton MA we do have car-vs-deer situations. Usually the driver is driving too quickly on a road and does not have time to brake. These on the graph are only the ones reported in to the police - others occur without the police being notified.
I have personally seen a car plow into a deer where the driver was clearly not paying attention. There were four other cars all stopped around an intersection for the deer to pass, and the driver in question sped right through it all and hit the deer full-on. That was on Central Turnpike.
I have also been a passenger in a car on Central Turnpike, had a deer jump out across the road, and we were able to brake and not hit the deer.
Drive the speed limit, and be aware of deer!
