January Photos in Sutton Massachusetts
January is winter. The snow falls, between an inch to 2 feet depending on the weather. The trees are all bare, tho some brown leaves still cling tenaciously to their branches. Lots of pine trees, crisp mornings where your breath shows. When it's cold, it can get down to 20F as a high during the day, and with windchill nights can reach -10F or lower!

A Setting Sun
These next few photos were taken immediately after a blizzard socked us on Jan 22, 2005. We had had a few light snows up until this point, but the first half of January was actually pretty warm. And then the second half of January gave us I believe 15 straight days of sub-freezing temperatures - it never got up over 32F! We got over 2' of snow within 24 hours, with white-out conditions. The cat in the photo is a large 20 pounder -) That's not just a drift up against the sliding glass door, that is the height of the snow - and it's actually low on the porch.

The next set of photos were taken after 8" of snow fell on January 14, 2008. This was our first real snow of the season, although snow had been on the ground pretty much non-stop since just before Christmas.
