Female Hacklemesh Weaver Callobius Spider
Hacklemesh Weaver spiders are part of the Amaurobiidae family. They believe it is part of the Callobius genus. Apparently it is hard to know what TYPE of Hacklemesh Weaver spider you have (i.e. what specific species) because they look almost identical at this level. We are happy just to know we have Hacklemesh weavers! This page is all about FEMALE Hacklemesh Callobius spiders we have seen. They have a much larger abdomen than the males do. These photos below were taken at a different time and are probably of a different Hacklemesh Weaver spider (although I suppose it *could* be the same one). This guy was clinging to the bottom of our doorway mat.
I have another page of photos too!
