Female Autumn Meadowhawk Dragonfly

There are many types of Meadowhawk dragonflies. They look very similar to each other! This specific one is the Autumn Meadowhawk, or Sympetrum vicinum. These photos were all taken in Sutton Massachusetts, and they are all of the female. You can tell it's female by its brown color - the Males are red. You can tell it's an Autumn Meadowhawk by its brown legs. And also, if it's September, by this point pretty much only the Autumn Meadowhawk is left in Massachusetts.

These following photos were taken on our porch in September. It was on the same day as the red male on the male page was taken, in the same location.
