Mottled Prominent - Bugs and Beetles in Sutton Massachusetts
The Mottled Prominent caterpillar turns into the Mottled Prominent moth - the Macrurocampa marthesia species. The moth is a mottled brown color and very fuzzy.
The Mottled Prominent caterpillar is gorgeous! It is a light, pale green color, almost translucent, with a pale white webbing along the sides. There is a light yellow / white stripe running down his back. His tail is forked into two pieces. The head is light yellow in color.
