Rough Stink Bug - Bugs and Beetles in Sutton Massachusetts
It's a shame that this intersting little creature has the name of Rough Stink Bug. It makes you think that it's going to be nasty smelling! Instead, the little creature was quite peacefully minding its own business on our porch in April. It didn't even mind that I took a lot of photos of it. As a Stink Bug it's part of the Pentatomidae family, and being a Rough Stink Bug it's in the Brochymena genus.
Apparently these are mostly out in the spring and fall. This was about the size of a quarter.
