The Valley

I first thought this was a beewolf, but I was then told that this is actually a Potter Wasp, part of the Eumeninae subfamily of the wasp / yellowjacket / hornet / etc. family.

This Potter Wasp was photographed in Sutton Massachusetts on a back porch. There are several types of Potter Wasps - this one is a Ancistrocerus adiabatus.
