The Valley

We were really impressed with this blister beetle! This specific type is a short winged blister beetle - Meloe angusticollis - and is a glossy shiny black / dark blue color. The wings are, as you might guess, short and don't cover its entire back. Its back has subtle striping on it. The antennae look like they're made from little hearts to me!
